The Truth about the cost of a website: How much does a website cost?

I’ll be honest, the price of a website depends on many factors. However, it doesn’t always reflect added value or quality. I know many companies that try to compete on advertising platforms and offer lower prices there than in reality.

Why should I charge a customer more just because they find me outside of an advertising platform? And yet, they still get the same quality website?

Company Location

We can notice price differences in websites based on the location of the company. Naturally, the most expensive are in Bratislava, and the cheapest in the south or east of the country. Why is that?

For example, a company in Banská Bystrica, thanks to low office rental costs or owning their own property, has lower expenses and can offer a lower price. On the other hand, in Bratislava, office costs are higher, so the final price is also higher. There is also a difference in the hourly rate of programmers — prices range from €20 to €50, and I’ve even seen rates of €100–150 per hour. Crazy, right? The difference between what they ask for can be as much as 700%!

Both companies work on the same WordPress system, and the websites look quite similar. One site cost €200, while another would pay €1200 for a similar one. That won’t happen with us. I offer my services on the portal jaspravim.sk starting from €40, here on the site from €60, but the price includes the (SK, EU) domain and hosting. Fair, isn’t it?

Agency, or Sole Trader, Freelancer?

Again, the location of the company and how much someone wants to profit are important. I often read that people won’t entrust their website to an agency because it will be expensive. You have to realize that not everyone has the talent or the certifications for everything. I myself divide my work between graphic designers and copywriters. If a fair price is agreed upon between freelancers, we can undercut the agency’s price and still deliver the same result.

So, how much does a website cost?

As I mentioned, competitors create one-page websites starting at €200. With us, a fast, simple, presentation website costs €60 including domain and hosting. You don’t pay anything extra; only from the second year onwards, you pay €15 for hosting and €15 for the domain. So, the entire website costs you only €30 per year.

There will always be someone who wants more details on the site, to add something, or to have 100 subpages. That’s no problem. After the initial four hours allocated for the website, I charge only €10 per hour. During that time, I focus solely on you — you won’t find me sitting at a café or chatting on the phone with my girlfriend. I can document all the time spent on your website.

Is it really possible to create a website in 4 hours? Of course! Many websites I have created in less than four hours are already online and attracting new customers for clients. Just take a look at my references or portfolio.

What do you get with the cheapest website on the market?

For €60, you get a domain, your own hosting, basic SEO optimization, and website security.
